Apprenticeship Training Instructor

The Trustees of the Des Moines Electrical Apprenticeship Training Trust announce the addition of a Full-Time Electrical Instructor position at the Des Moines Electrical Apprenticeship Training Center in Des Moines.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a minimum of seven years of experience as a journeyman in the electrical construction building trade.
  • Have a current State of Iowa Electrical Journeyman or Master License.
  • Have experience in all aspects of the electrical construction field including: motor control and PLCs, conduit bending, blueprint reading, structured cabling, fiber optics, AC and DC theory.
  • Be proficient with the National Electrical Code.

This is a salaried position of 40 – 45 hours per week.  This includes some evenings, plus some over-night travel.  Fringe benefits include two weeks of paid vacation, 7 1/2 paid holidays, Inside contribution rate to health insurance and retirement fund, and NEBF pension contribution.

The successful candidate will be required to attend basic and advanced education and certification training.  This training may require travelling out of town 2 – 6 weeks per year.
